We’re continually introducing new and innovative initiatives to build our effectiveness in these arenas. Everyday, we’re working to improve our performance and our dedication is having a big impact.
For the past four years, we’ve been ranked as a Climate Leader by the Carbon Disclosure Project – achieving the highest score for a UK bank in 2007. We’ve also purchased 100% renewable electricity to power our 2,200 UK buildings, piloted the only Saving Gateway with HM Treasury and almost doubled our financial inclusion score in the influential Dow Jones Sustainability Index 2007, giving us the highest overall sustainability score amongst banks in the UK.
, established in May 2002, works with charitable and not-for-profit organisations across the UK and activities focus on two key themes – money advice and financial literacy, and developing and improving local communities. In 2008 the Foundation has set specific objectives including aiming to raise £4m by matching staff fundraising efforts through The Million £ Challenge and encouraging 11,000 colleagues to volunteer. As a graduate with us, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in a range of activities and become a volunteer through the HBOS Foundation.
